About Me

Hi there! I am Diptark! 👋🏻

I am an MS in Computer Science student at Georgia Tech, specializing in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). I chose HCI because I enjoy exploring the intersection of people and computing, and developing software that are useful and usable.

In the past, I’ve had the opportunity to work at Oracle and Meta, where I’ve built software that unlocks value for business partners, and provides a better user experience for our end-users.

Outside work, I indulge in running, learning foreign languages, and binging documentaries!

Currently @ Georgia Institute of Technology 🐝

Developing the Prolonged Exposure Collective Sensing System (PECSS) at the Ubiquitous Computing Lab.

NSF Award Number: 1915504 | Advised by Dr. Rosa I. Arriaga | The PECSS Website

As a Research Assistant at The Ubiquitous Computing Lab of Georgia Tech, I get to work on some really interesting interdisciplinary research questions. With PECSS, we are trying to build ubiquitous computing systems that would aid clinicians to improve the quality of therapy. We are building PECSS with the aim of improving patient engagement, continuity of care, and point of care interactions for PTSD patients.

As you might have already guessed, PECSS is a vast project in itself, with hundreds of moving parts that multiple researchers are proactively working on. Here, I describe the work threads that I have been responsible for.

Developing the Digiscape Audio Module - Android

Finding Correlations between Audio & Speech Markers of Patients and their Depressive & Post-Traumatic Indices

Developing a PTSD Symptom Cluster Classifier

Previously @ Oracle 👨🏻‍💻

Previously, as an Application Developer & Consultant at Oracle, I worked on developing and customizing Opower, a stellar product of the Oracle Utilities Suite.

Opower helps ~ 6 million users worldwide to properly understand their energy consumption and helps them identify steps for reducing their consumption. The result? Opower has already helped save ~30 TWh+ electricity worldwide!

Some Pet Projects

Back in the good old days, when I used to have some free time to spare, I would come up with new interface and app ideas that solved a particular use case or friction point for the end users. Together with my hackathon buddies, I’ve had the chance of implementing these ideas too. Here, I talk about some of those pet projects.

Geriatrix: A Mobile Launcher for Elderly
